LEADERSHIP statistics

Leadership in professional organizations is a valuable opportunity for career advancement, impact and connection. In the past year, women made up 32% of ASLA Local Chapter Presidents.

The percentage of women serving as the national ASLA president has stalled since the 1980s, when the first women, Darwina Neal was elected in 1984. ​Only 12% of all ASLA National Presidents have been women.

​In the ASLA Council of Fellows, women represent 16% of fellows inducted between 1899 and 2018. In the last decade, only 25% of inductees were women. Thats a mere 9% increase over 40+ years.
